And for the photos I did (around 200) it was time wasted as I had to enter the dates twice for every photo. That's what I wanted, to be able to upload the photos and have them go right into the timeline where I wanted them, that's not what I got.

Why does metadata matter you ask?! Because if you're someone who went to the time of editing all that data, you potentially want the photos to go into a timeline (think google photos). Export without data - Regular photos, with all the same metadata as before, wrong. Photo itself though is still wrong on the details tab. Think of it as putting your photo in a frame you didn't ask for, so they can print the metadata for you there. Export the photos with data - This one is honestly the worst, it literally puts your photo in an ugly white box so it can print the Date and location within the photo itself. Get a link to the photos (with date/time printed below the picture in webpage fashion), try saving the photo locally though, and the metadata of the photo still has a date of the day it was generated, not the date you input as it being taken.

When exported, you have a few different options for how to display the date and location of the photos. The app allows you to input dates and places (which I WRONGFULLY assumed would also be placed into the metadata of the picture for easy integration into google photos and the like). Photomyne is a great app, unfortunately is does appear to be lacking one feature that I thought would be a given. I would happily pay handsomely for an app like this that respected my privacy and didn't try to wall me in. I wish they would use their powers for good instead. (so not portable) All this makes me sad because the workflow and layout of the app is intuitive and well thought out.

Doesn't appear to write metadata to image AFAICT, which means it must use a proprietary db. In fact it makes you HOLD the shutter button down which increases your chances of a blurry capture.

This prevents from using a Bluetooth controller to snap pics to give you a steady capture. (dimensions, metadata, etc.) Image capture does not use standard camera shutter button.

Try to find image details anywhere in the app. Zoom into a captured image to see how fast the quality deteriorates. They want to control all vectors and steer you into the paid app, then lock you in. App content is walled off from other apps so you can't inspect images in your normal gallery apps. Savvy users will recognize this and move on.
